Rantings, Raves and Ramblings
Blog Time Again!
Published on September 11, 2004 By Anne Alogy In Blogging
Hello Again,

When you argue with someone, and they don't counter on a point you made, but harp on something else out of the blue, that's their way of admitting that they've lost the argument, but are trying to save face.....Continuing from last blog's Beatle references: A Hard Day's Night and Yellow Submarine are both 4-star, gold-plated classic films.....Help! falls a little short of classic status, and Let It Be is just plain boring.....Nobody's fault except Paul McCartney's.....Al Brodax, who also produced the Beatles' cartoon show, should get a Lifetime Achievement award for his work on Yellow Submarine.....We've been getting some un-California like humidity here the last few days.....I'll take an earthquake anytime over a hurricane.....I don't lose sleep worrying about quakes.....You can't live here and do that.....So many myths about earthquakes.....Hollywood hasn't helped, but they are in the entertainment business, not the information business.....The ground does NOT open up and swallow people and buildings.....California CANNOT fall into the Pacific.....There is NO SUCH THING as Earthquake Weather.....In the 1970 flick, Earthquake, starring Charlton Heston, Ava Gardner was cast as Lorne Greene's DAUGHTER!.....There was something like seven years difference in age between them.....The safest place to be when a quake hits is the actual epicenter.....As if you could plan that!.....In the epicenter, you won't feel the quake at all.....The Dodgers are collapsing in the wrong direction.....C'mon guys, lose, dammit!.....Only 2 reasons to visit Maryland: Camden Yards & crabcakes.....Great Dilbert punchline: "We gave the boss an Etch-A-Sketch and told him it was a laptop! He's trying to make it work now!".....While doing some browsing the other day, a woman said "Excuse me" to me so that she could look at some clothes I was standing next to.....She was smiling and very pleasant, and I was glad to cede the space to her.....She picked out a few items and tried them on in a dressing booth, don't know if she bought any of them.....She was Natalie Cole.....Prediction: Miami Dolphins (+3) 24, Tennessee Titans 17.....Take the unders and the points!.... 9-11-01.....Always in our hearts and minds.

Thanks for reading. As Always, Anne Alogy

Sorry, LW, but I haven't lived in as many places you have. Both my parents have had one employer apiece, so there was no need to move around. Once I decided I wanted to write for a living, well, where better to be for that than here?
For someone so well-traveled, you don't seem to have learned much. I think I now know what they mean by the term "Ugly American".
I'll bet you know every truck stop in the lower 48. I'll admit to ignorance about that subject.
My parents let me decide what activities and groups I wanted to be a part of when I was younger. That included Girl Scouts, summer camps, and the like. I also decided what college I would attend, when and where I would travel, who I work for, who I go out with and the like. Why would I let any man decide what group I would join? That doesn't make any sense.
I'm going to keep doing what I do, thank you very much. The only thing I could learn from your life experiences that I've read so far is what not to do.
I have no need to delete SPM's remark. Like anyone else, including you (I practice inclusion, not exclusion), he's free to respond anyway he sees fit, just as you have. If you have a problem with his remark, take it up with him or JU administration. It's between you and him. If JU administration tells me to delete it, I will, otherwise, it stays with the other replies. I don't tell you or anyone else how to edit their reply sections.
The last few replies I've recieved from you remind me of the 1985 song Obsession, by Animotion.
I guess you are gone. I see the towel on the ground.

Anne, I would give a word of caution- you do have the right to leave things on your blog, but you also have the responsibility to delete things if they are against JU rules.  Also, things that you post on the forum are moderated, which means that an admin can delete things, or hide or delete your articles if they feel such action should take place.  If you don't know, "JavaBrain" is my admin alter ego.

*Wuxiaomao, I wanted to keep my reply to your nice response seperate. You deserve that consideration.
Woo-shawl-owl has a nice sound to it. Having a cat name is nice. I have a cat that I'm very fond of. She's an all-gray Russian Blue, and one of LA's best mousers! I think your name is very cool.

I don't know, other than pure athletic achievement, why any kid would want to call himself Kobe. I think he's a very bad role model. If he had stuck to purely athletic achievements, I wouldn't have a problem with it, but he didn't. Shaq would be a much better name, but I guess it's his choice.

Something tells me you're a great teacher! Keep it up! Great teachers are so precious few.

*Karma/Java, fair enough, but I didn't see "remove it" in your post. When instructed to do so, I will. Is SPM's posting against JU's rules? No one has told me that yet.

Anne, I think you are smarter than that.  I posted asking SPM to prove what he said and posted what "rule" he broke. He didn't prove it, but the person that it was pointed at said "that sounds both defamatory and libelous to me"  Don't expect me to say "remove this".  If that is how you want to deal with things, I'll do it myself.

Anne you should delete my comment. I will not be offended.

It would be a nice gesture for Little Whip or "Java Brain" to remove the article claiming Muggaz is a terrorist sympathiser as I feel this breaks the very same rule. Unless we have proof of Mark's terrorist connections of course. Or maybe my article 'The Nazi's were right to gas the homosexuals' as this must surely break the rule under hate?

Do you feel the love here?
on Sep 13, 2004

SPM, the article that you are referring to is based on things that were actually said by Muggaz.  That is very different than saying that somebody said/did something that they didn't, especially if it involves a violent crime.  Your own little hate article is against the rules, but so is impersonating somebody, so maybe we're just looking at it as "two wrongs make a right" and have been ignoring you.  But, if you would like me to pay more attention to your site and the rules that you may be breaking, I can do that.

Do you feel the love here?

Love, who cares about love?  If I see something that is no-questions asked libel I am going to say something about it.  If it is true, why didn't SPM post where he read it from?  He didn't because it was a right out lie.  If those are the type of things that you find "OK", don't go around complaining if somebody treats you the same way.

Other than Little Whip, who was complaining?

If you can spare the time that would be splendid.
