It's just me!

Hello Again,

I repeat, USC will NOT win the national championship.....You read it here first.....The smart money was on Bernard Hopkins over Oscar De La Hoya.....Result: Hopkins wins by KO in the 9th.....If the vote in Louisiana Saturday is going to be invalidated by a court, and proponents there expect that to happen, just what was the point in having it?.....LSU was upset by Auburn Saturday.....Just coincidence, I'm sure.....The Southeastern Conference is the best league in all of college football.....In less than one year as California Governor, Arnold Schwartzennegger has released 48 murderers.....In 5 years in the same post, Gray Davis released 8.....Who did they say was soft on crime?.....Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-Newport Beach) has introduced a proposed constitutional amendment to allow naturalized citizens who've lived in the country at least 20 years to be eligible to run for President..... Wonder if he had anybody in particular in mind?.....A snowball in a microwave oven has a better chance than this legislation.....A little query for the Anaheim Angels: What's the good in having lots of baserunners if you're not going to bring them home?.....The Hittin' Halos have been shut out 3 times in the last week.....Twice by last place Seattle!.....Anne's Book Club: Just finished "The End of Faith: Religion, Terror, and the Future of Reason" by Sam Harris.....It's riveting.....And a revelation to yours truly.....A must-read!.....I also recommend Harris' Op-Ed piece in the 8-15 edition of the LA Times.....At the rate he's going, Sam Harris will soon be among my favorite writers.....I don't know about Powerball, but the odds of winning the California State Lottery Super Lotto are over 1 in 48 million.....If you have to gamble, your best bets are horse racing, blackjack, craps, and some, not all poker games.....Quick picks: Packers over Bears, Redskins over Giants, Chiefs over Panthers, Jets over Chargers and Patriots over Cardinals.....Parting shot: Ya think that while he was still at 699 homers, Barry Bonds deliberately didn't hit #700 while the Giants were in Milwaukee?.....So do I.

Thanks for reading. As Always, Anne Alogy

Craps has the best payoff in casino gaming. a hard number parlay pays 99 to 1 (i actually saw a guy hit it once in Vegas). Followed by roulette at 37 to 1. Horse racing technically has a higher payout if you hit a longshot....but that rarely happens.

I was thrilled when Bernie Hopkins knocked out that pretty boy De La Hoya. Oscar needs to get out. He's done....Hand me a fork.

And of course Barry waited to get 700 at home. He owes it to the Giants fans! (of which i am one) They're gonna catch them Dodgers....

As far as the Angels go...I have said it before, and i will say it again...BRING BACK THE RALLY MONKEY!

*thatoneguy, Good gambling info from you. On the ponies, favorites finish in the money 2/3 of the time, but actually win only 33% of races. In quarterhorse racing, longshots win over half the time, and the payouts can be incredible!

It don't look good for Oscar right now, but stranger things have happened. Remember, this is boxing. Anything can happen in a sport that has characters like Bob Arum & Don King.

I agree wholeheartedly that the Giants will catch and pass the Dodgers. LA hasn't been the same team since that July trade. And Penny hurt himself again.

I think my Angels are just plain out of gas. With Adam Kennedy out, I don't think the Rally Monkey can do his magic this year.
