Fantastic list!  That's pretty spot-on as well as comprehensive.

The only person that I would differ with would be Tom Arnold.  For some reason, I have always liked him (especially on talk shoes.  He's always so unhinged.)

(What has Lily Tomlin done to deserve your ire?  I thought that she was pretty inoffensive.)

You should have listed the entire cast of "The View"!
You crack me up..I will be adding you to my favorites..

What about Michael Moore?  BTW, what sort of people do you like?  The only thing I can figure is you are not a conservative.

Heads Up, Jamie,

Thanks for the very nice words! When I was a teen in the late 80's, Tom and Roseanne were freakin' EVERYWHERE! They were on every talk show, in every magazine, and whenever they scratched themselves or put air in their tires, they would send out press releases heralding the feat. Once, I tried to sit through a Tom Arnold monologue, I thought to myself "The nerds at my school come up with better humor than this crap!" and clicked the remote. I once had a chance meeting with Lonnie Lardner, entertainment reporter on several local TV stations (where's she been lately?). While she was still working at Channel 11, the Fox-owned outlet, she banned any further mention of Tom and Roseanne. I mentioned this to her and though she was smiling, she just rolled up her eyes, shook her head and mumbled "Those two..." and politely changed the subject. Tom's career has not been the same since he was detatched from his free meal ticket. Maybe he's Mr. Nice Guy, especially nowadays, but I don't know him. And even if I did, that doesn't mean I'd like his act. One of my neighbors is in a band that plays many club dates and they're doing well, but I think they suck! But, I also think my neighbor is a really good guy, and I hope that he has all the success in the world. Vive le difference!

As for Lily Tomlin, was Ernestine ever funny? And did you try to watch "Moment by Moment", the cinematic disaster she made with John Travolta? Absolutely brutal. The poor quality of the overall film was pretty offensive. And she's considered great? Puh-leez! Just not my cup of humor.

Talk shoes? Is that a new fashion-technological advancement that I'm unaware of?

Heads Up, King,

I've heard a horror story or two about Harold Greene and his Channel 2 co-hort Anne Martin, in fact there seem to be a number of chiller tales coming out of Columbia Square, where Channels 2 and 9 are based, but non-Southern California readers wouldn't appreciate the people mentioned. It does seem to be a rogue's gallery there, though, doesn't it?

You are a great and glorious, fair and just King! L'nL, Anne

Heads Up, Kelly,

It just so happens that I LIKE Meredith Viera, and that wasn't always the case. Since her days with CBS, she seems to have grown as a media personality, and has been coming across in recent years as very likeable, someone people can relate to, especially on "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?" And, she may be the best-looking 50 year old woman around. Makes me less afraid of aging.

Your last line in your reply is very flattering. Thank you kindly. L'nL, Anne

Heads Up, Jill,

I'm a big fan of Michael Moore, and therefore he does not belong on my list. However, you're perfectly entitled to make up your own list on a future blog of yours and put him on it.

If I listed the people I like, there wouldn't be enough time in my lifetime to make the list complete. I'm 30, btw. I think, however, that the list that you just spent some of your valuable time reading stacks up pretty good vs. people I like, people I know personally, and the rest of the world. Look at it this way, Jill: There are over two billion people in China and India who don't care.

I learned a long time ago that it isn't against the law to be a conservative. That's part of being a liberal. We respect the rights of others to think what they wish. When it's illegal to be a liberal, you let me know. I don't want to be a lawbreaker, like some conservatives I could name.

In all seriousness, your time is precious, don't squander it with hate, please, and thanks for taking some of it to read my blog.

L'nL, Anne

PS-BTW, I listed an awful lot of Democrats and liberals, doncha think?

Not Beyonce! She's hot!

Heads Up, Little Whip,

If you read the list, you'll plainly see that there are people of diverse races on it. Perhaps if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, aka the Mormons, who dominate everything in Utah, of which the Osmond Family are proud members, didn't have such a gawdawful racist history, I would have worded my Osmond reference differently. But, they do, so I didn't. I also didn't want to insult any black singers from Utah with the last name of Osmond. They deserve better! BTW, just where is the racial slur that you think makes me racist?

There's nothing hypocritical at all in what I wrote. One of the ideas behing blogs is called "the free expression of thoughts", and that's what I was doing. It's called "being honest" and "getting something out of your system". Are you familiar with those concepts, Little? I never tell anyone they HAVE to agree with me, and I don't try to make people feel inferior for what they think. Monocracy has never worked in this country, no matter how hard some have tried to make it work.

Getting these words out of my system serves some great purposes, Little. It saves me the trouble of bothering my friends when something is on my mind. They have lives also. By channeling anger, resentment and negativity in a blog, it relieves my system, makes me feel better, and less likely to be angry with someone in person, and makes me less likely to say something I'll regret later.

I make no apology for anything, Little Whip, don't look for one.

BTW, who runs around in public with a name like Little Whip? Doncha realize the jokes you're setting yourself up to be the target of? Oh, well, I won't go there. You and I know the truth. Wink-wink, nudge nudge.

With my unprejudiced head held high, L'nL, Anne

Heads Up, Joseph,

For you, and for you only, the listing of Beyonce won't count! However, there are plenty of horror stories about your hot diva around this town and New York that make Diana Ross appear to be a Girl Scout by comparison. I've lived in LA my entire life, and have seen plenty of celebs with class, dignity, inner security, and the respect of those around them. I'm afraid your girl doesn't fall into that category. But, I wish no ill will on her, and hope that the next time the Lakers offer her a second row seat when courtside isn't available, she'll go easy on Laker staffers. I also hope that her bodyguards will let people use the bathrooms and hotel swimming pools that are supposed to be available to ALL patrons! There really should be laws against that sort of nonsense!

Thanks for your time and for the reply! L'nL, Anne

what about the hilton sisters???

*Alison, a fair question. I can see people putting them and Nicole Richie on their lists, I chose not to put them on mine. First, they're not all over the place like many on my list are. If you don't watch shows like Entertainment Tonight, or read a tabloid, or don't watch Fox much, you'll never see them! Other networks will not be fond of mentioning the stars of another network's show.

Second, even if you do see them, they never say anything! Apparently, they may be fearful of coming across as rich bimbos, so you rarely see a quote or sound byte from them. Something tells me that's by design.

Third, as I mentioned in an earlier blog, I respect Paris Hilton. To put my earlier statements in a nutshell, I think that she's very smart, and she probably figured that she wasn't material for Law, Medical, or Business schools, like most of us do. She probably also figured that she would come up short on acting talent. So why not make a living being what you are? It certainly isn't charity.

Last & least, on a personal level, while I've never met Paris Hilton, I do know people who have. Long story short, people like her and vouch for her character. According to second-hand info I've heard, she doesn't cause trouble at the clubs she frequents, she'll talk to anyone, and cheerfully signs autographs, unlike so many others I could mention. On the set of The Simple Life 1, she apparently charmed the socks off of everyone in that small Arkansas town.

Thanks for your input. As Always, Anne

In all seriousness, your time is precious, don't squander it with hate, please, and thanks for taking some of it to read my blog.

Didn't you just spend quite a bit of your time making up a list of people you hate?

on Aug 06, 2004

*Draginol, the answer is not really. First, the list of annoying people came to me quite easily and therefore was easy and quick to put together, compared to the average time it usually takes one to blog.

Second, I don't hate anyone. There's a big difference between finding someone annoying and hating someone. For example, I've been hit on by some truly annoying guys who were masters at getting on my nerves. If I were to see one of them lying on the street or an alley bleeding later on, I would call for help, and do what I could for him in the meantime, including CPR if needed.

Dislike some people? Yes. Hate? Never!

Thanks for your good question, As Always, Anne
