In all seriousness, I do enjoy this.....It's a welcome release for someone who works professionally as a writer.....Even if someone disagrees with something I wrote, I take it as a sign they care, and I don't take it personally.....Internet reports are calling last night's WWE SummerSlam SummerSnore.....I'll see a friend's tape of it later.....Vince McMahon should take note, though: An awful lot of people paid an awful lot of money to see the pay-per-view.....And the arena in Toronto was sold out the day tickets went on sale.....The fans deserve better than having one of the main events end in a disqualification.....The WWE creative team can do better than that.....That's kind of a rip-off.....Short matches don't help either.....In pre-cable days, there would be live matches with an advertised 2-hour time limit.....And the wrestlers would actually wrestle for 2 hours.....You don't see that today.....Somewhere, Lou Thesz and Argentine Rocca are shaking their heads.....Final add wrestling: My father, who's in his early 60s, said that wrestling was a lot more fun and much better before Vince McMahon became the industry's kingpin.....I miss Chick Hearn.....It's getting to be nervous time in baseball.....I also miss Harry Caray calling Cub games on WGN.....And the Raiders' Bill King was arguably the most colorful sports announcer of any kind, ever.....Is it against the law nowadays for a sportscaster to be colorful?.....Consultants are running too many things these days.....I once stood next to Shaquille O'Neal.....He's 7-2 (at least, don't pay any attention to the program), and I'm 5-4.....When I stood next to him, the top of my head didn't even reach his pockets.....He seemed like a very nice guy, and I wish for him a title in Miami.....Forget Kobe Bryant for now, why is LA Clippers owner Donald Sterling featured at The Smoking Gun?.....And why isn't the LA Times reporting any of this?.....I wonder what Marcia Clark is up to these days?.....UCLA Legend John Wooden is one of the most amazing people who has ever lived.....No one, of course, is perfect, but I imagine Coach Wooden is about as close as anyone is going to get.....His Pyramid of Success is worth heeding.....It's on the internet.....The Pyramid is about life, not sports.....The loss by the USA Men's basketball team (I refuse to call this one The Dream Team) to Puerto Rico yesterday wasn't an upset to me.....They lack chemistry, cohesion, and they have too many ball hogs and big egos.....Hey, that sounds like last season's Lakers!
