Ramblng some more...

Hello Again,

In all seriousness, I do enjoy this.....It's a welcome release for someone who works professionally as a writer.....Even if someone disagrees with something I wrote, I take it as a sign they care, and I don't take it personally.....Internet reports are calling last night's WWE SummerSlam SummerSnore.....I'll see a friend's tape of it later.....Vince McMahon should take note, though: An awful lot of people paid an awful lot of money to see the pay-per-view.....And the arena in Toronto was sold out the day tickets went on sale.....The fans deserve better than having one of the main events end in a disqualification.....The WWE creative team can do better than that.....That's kind of a rip-off.....Short matches don't help either.....In pre-cable days, there would be live matches with an advertised 2-hour time limit.....And the wrestlers would actually wrestle for 2 hours.....You don't see that today.....Somewhere, Lou Thesz and Argentine Rocca are shaking their heads.....Final add wrestling: My father, who's in his early 60s, said that wrestling was a lot more fun and much better before Vince McMahon became the industry's kingpin.....I miss Chick Hearn.....It's getting to be nervous time in baseball.....I also miss Harry Caray calling Cub games on WGN.....And the Raiders' Bill King was arguably the most colorful sports announcer of any kind, ever.....Is it against the law nowadays for a sportscaster to be colorful?.....Consultants are running too many things these days.....I once stood next to Shaquille O'Neal.....He's 7-2 (at least, don't pay any attention to the program), and I'm 5-4.....When I stood next to him, the top of my head didn't even reach his pockets.....He seemed like a very nice guy, and I wish for him a title in Miami.....Forget Kobe Bryant for now, why is LA Clippers owner Donald Sterling featured at The Smoking Gun?.....And why isn't the LA Times reporting any of this?.....I wonder what Marcia Clark is up to these days?.....UCLA Legend John Wooden is one of the most amazing people who has ever lived.....No one, of course, is perfect, but I imagine Coach Wooden is about as close as anyone is going to get.....His Pyramid of Success is worth heeding.....It's on the internet.....The Pyramid is about life, not sports.....The loss by the USA Men's basketball team (I refuse to call this one The Dream Team) to Puerto Rico yesterday wasn't an upset to me.....They lack chemistry, cohesion, and they have too many ball hogs and big egos.....Hey, that sounds like last season's Lakers!

Thank you for reading this. 'Til next time, As Always, Anne Alogy

Hey Anne,
I think Marcia Clark is doing Entertainment Tonight these days....go figure.

My claim to wrestling fame, which will show my age is back in the WWF days. My friend and I went to a match to meet boys and walking away from the ring after winning the match was Dusty Rhodes. As he walked by we touched him of course and squealed because he was so sweaty!** I hear he is a used car salesman in south Florida now.

That is my sad little story..good job

*Kelly, this will show exactly how much electricity I use watching Entertainment Tonight. However, for what it's worth, past encounters I had with former ET co-host Leeza Gibbons were pleasant. She seemed very nice.

Dusty may be selling used cars, but you may also be interested to know that the American Dream is working for Stan & Jeff Jarrett at NWA-TNA. If you have access to Fox Sports Net, it airs on Friday afternoons, and often times he is interviewed. I personally would love to be ringside when John Bradshaw Layfield, Rob Van Dam & Edge are wrestling. Eric Bishoff ain't bad, either.

Thank you, KellyW. As Always, Anne

Hey Anne,
What happened to Gorden Soley (sp?) Did he pass away...I thought he was one of the greatest wrestling announcers...

I remember reading that he got throat cancer. I don't remember if he passed away or if he's still alive, but either way, his announcing career is over, unfortunately. He was outstanding.

*Kelly & *chiprj, I am sorry to report that Gordon Soley has passed on. He was great & outstanding. Wrestling never had a better straight man. When he passed away, Raw had a brief memorium for him at the beginning of the program, and Jim Ross, doing the voice-over, mourned the passing of a friend. I'm not sure of the exact year. He did have a small part in the film "Man in the Moon", the Andy Kaufman biopic that starred Jim Carrey. JR & Jerry Lawler also had roles. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it. Good film.

Thank you both. As Always, Anne

Hey, that sounds like last season's Lakers!

definitely looked that way, too.  lo how the mighty have fallen huh?

Marcia Clark is doing Entertainment Tonight

yeah but what's she wearing?

on Aug 17, 2004

*King, at the rate that the Lakers are already falling apart before next season even begins, maybe instead of being on ABC & ESPN, they'll be on Entertainment Tonight!
Never mind what Marcia Clark is wearing, how many times has she changed hairstyles?

I miss Harry Caray and Chick Hearn too...But Give me Hot Rod Hundley, the voice of the Utah Jazz (and former laker) He's the only guy in the league who can broadcast while drunk

And i never would have figured you for a wrasslin' fan Anne...Go fig!

*thatoneguy, I'm sure you know that Hot Rod used to be the color commentator on Laker broadcasts in the 60s. Did you know that Chick Hearn had him fired for his continuously calling him "Chickie Baby?" It drove him up the wall!

And, speaking of drunk sportcasters, a media aquaintence of mine told me that Harry Caray's beer sloshing was legendary in every National League press box! By the late innings, he was really slurring his speech! I guess what he said often was true, He was a Bud man!
