Hello Again,
I don't get it, if Israel's our friend & ally, why do they need to spy on us?.....You read it here earlier: the Kobe case cookie has crumbled.....Court TV is one of the most disappointing things on television.....It could and should be sooo much better.....If you ask me, Zell Miller is the biggest flip-flopper in politics.....Only 61 more days until Election Day.....I can't wait.....According to the ABC News documentary, The Making of a President, 1992, by 12 noon Eastern time on Election Day, 1992, the media already knew that Clinton had won.....Journalistic ethics (yes, they are practiced) kept them from reporting it at that time.....The main reason I don't comment on the Scott Peterson trial is that we had a horrible trial here in LA years ago that went terribly wrong from public hysteria.....The McMartin Pre-School Trial.....It went from 1983 all the way to 1990.....I was in grade school when it started, and in high school when it ended.....I remember all the lectures & assemblies our school gave us when the case first broke.....The math: 7 years, $15 million tax dollars, 208 counts against 7 defendants, not a single, solitary conviction, nor a shred of solid evidence.....The case not only ruined the lives of the McMartin family, a decent, God-fearing bunch, but ruined the political aspirations of LA County District Attorney Ira Reiner, who was hoping to use the case to propel himself to statewide office, and Lead DA Lael Rubin, whose nomination to become a judge was rejected after this case fell apart.....Some press reports called Rubin's tactics sleazy & unprofessional.....The DA's office has never lived it down.....A retired veteran LA news reporter once told me about being at the 1976 Republican Convention in Philadelphia.....This was the GOP's first since the Watergate Scandal.....He said that he couldn't get anyone to say the N-word -- Nixon.....A man I know is a practicing Buddhist.....His name is Roy.....Recently, he went to the home of another Buddhist to do some chanting.....Many people were there.....It's customary to remove your shoes and leave them outside before chanting.....When they were done chanting, Roy was the first one outside.....He had just bought the shoes he was wearing that night.....When he stepped outside, he found a large cat on top of his shoes, slashing & chewing on them.....The cat took off.....Roy & a few others looked for the cat, in the hopes of finding his owner to pay for the damaged shoes.....A woman noticed a large cat sitting on a nearby fence.....She said "Pardon me, Roy, is that the cat that chewed your new shoes?"
On that happy note, thanks for reading. As Always, Anne Alogy
