Rantings, Raves and Ramblings
It's F'n hot here!
Published on September 12, 2004 By Anne Alogy In Blogging
Hello Again,

Once again the forecasted cool down didn't happen.....The weather nerds on LA TV have been telling us for 3 days to expect a cool down tomorrow.....And they're saying it again.....I'll believe it when I feel it.....It was sooo hot today that the only things I had on all day were the air conditioner, the TV and the computer.....That's it.....When you're single and living alone, you can do things like that.....Don't worry, the curtains were drawn.....Got a telephone invite for a pool party, which I gladly accepted.....I finally put something on my person.....My swimsuit.....And in this heat, it felt heavy.....After a quick greeting from the hostess, I kicked off the sandals and dove right in.....It felt great!.....I think I stayed in the pool for over an hour.....It was great to see some people I hadn't seen for awhile.....I won't name-drop, but the actor known as the patron saint of Jump The Shark was there.....He's one of the nicest people you'd ever want to meet.....So was a member of a large, very well known acting family.....Clue: his sister-in-law was on Friends.....He's also a nice guy.....Got home a little after 2am, feeling all cooled off.....When I turned the computer on, my AOL screen informed me it was 70ยบ.....It's probably over 80 in Palm Springs right now.....I was taught when I was younger to always consider the source.....With that in mind, and with their lengthy track record, I believe CBS News.....Joe McCarthy, Birdseye, Richard Nixon & Enron all tried in vain to discredit them.....You know what they say about people who forget history.....Say what you will about Kitty Kelley, but no one has ever sued her.....Love them or hate them, The National Enquirer has an excellent track record along legal lines.....Editor-In-Chief Mike Walker will tell you that himself.....Rush Limbaugh hasn't sued them yet.....And probably never will.....Quick NFL picks: Steelers over Raiders, Ravens over Browns, Texans over Chargers, Cowboys over Vikings and Chiefs over Broncos.....Sooner or later, the Chicago Cubs will have to replace 90 year-old Wrigley Field.....Prolly sooner than Wrigleyites want to think about.

Thanks for reading. As Always, Anne Alogy

it's that damn doppler radar.  the first year abc7 had it, their george hamilton clone was falling all over himself  claiming he could tell which side of a given street was getting rain; as soon as i heard that i knew we were cursed and i was right.  there wasnt any rain for the next 18 months and the weathers still not right dammit

*King, do you think there's any corralation between the strange weather and Pat Sajak leaving Channel 4 News to host Wheel of Fortune? Or the Angels actually winning a World Series, something unthinkable until 2002? I like what Bob Coburn of Arrow 93FM once said when giving out a forecast: Look out the damn window! Then, he hit the station jingle and started playing Voodoo Chile by Jimi Hendrix without saying another word!

On the other point, I guess I was, so to speak, revealing! OOPS! BAD PUN! In any event, I wish you could have seen...OOPS! FAUX PAS!!

Kelly, I'm really, really sorry, but I can't. I just can't tell you who was there. Ted McGinley & Richmond Arquette wouldn't like it! Not one little bit! So, I just can't tell you. Sorry. I know you'll understand.

Richmond Arquette

whatta ridiculous first name.

on Sep 13, 2004

*King, maybe the first name is unconventional, but he's a very nice guy. If you knew him, you'd like him. Everyone calls him Rich. He's pretty much a regular guy, no visible hang-ups or trips, and that's always a good sign. I hope you sometime get a chance to meet him. He's a good man.

Anne,
Ted McGinley is a hottie...If he is single, you should marry him and invite me to the wedding!

I"m not sure but I heard a rumor that the remake of Willy Wonka is going to be filmed here in Spokane, Wa. Well, at least the factory part. There is a building that is a huge steam plant and it is really something to see. That would be cool if it is filmed here.

*Kelly, I'm afraid that Mr. McGinley is very much taken. Our paths have crossed several times, and I have yet to meet a nicer guy in show biz. He loves being the "Patron Saint" of Jump The Shark! Always a class act, on or off camera.

I think it would be great if they filmed anything in Spokane. Your town is very scenic. And, it's south of the Canadian border, where waay too much production has gone to. I'll keep you posted if I read or hear anything about this project. I just hope that they don't use "The Candyman" song again. I always hated that song!

I don't know much about the state of Washington, are you near Tumwater? I wonder if Olympia Beer is still around? Or Rainier Ale?

Hey Anne,
I am on the eastern side of Washington and I think they do have both those beers and brewerys still. Actually, there has been a couple of films made here. The Postman with Kevin Costner was filmed about a couple hours away from here. Beautiful scenery where that was filmed. I think it was Kettle Falls. Then there were a couple small films made here by a company called North by Northwest productions (I think). This is the state of a million micro-breweries(sp). I love it a lot. I moved here from Florida and what a big difference. I am still learning my way around and I have fell in love with Autumn and Winter!

*Kelly, I think it's great that you love your new location. I'll bet that there's a lot to love. I've seen Kevin Costner at both Dodger Stadium & Staples Center, where the Lakers will soon flounder, like our NHL Kings have for many years.
I like that name, Kettle Falls. It sounds idyllic, rustic in a very pleasant way.
I asked about Olympia Beer because that was my father's favorite until one day it wasn't available anymore, and hasn't been available around here since. He loved Olympia! He still gripes about it once in awhile.
And, not to worry, you spelled breweries right! Straight A's & high 5's to you!
I hope to be in your state again sometime soon. It's a beauty.
