Hello Again, Just before graduating from high school in 1992, one of my teachers told me that in ten years, I would not be the same person that I was then. I'm 30 nowadays, and the teacher was right. Sooo much has happened since then, both personally and in society. So many people have come & gone. Let's not forget all the experiences, good & bad. We all grow & change, and I'm no exception. What I take special note of is the changes of opinion and perspective that I've experienced. For exa...

Hello Again, I consider myself very lucky.....I mostly get to work at home.....I was out with my friends Saturday night.....At one place, an absolute horse's ass of a drunk wouldn't leave our table.....The four of us excused ourselves, and told him we had to go to the ladies' room.....We didn't say which club's ladies' room.....I was designated driver again.....I haven't seen any stats lately, but alcoholism sure seems to be on the rise.....A sign of our stressful times, I guess.....The LA...

Hello Again, I repeat, USC will NOT win the national championship.....You read it here first.....The smart money was on Bernard Hopkins over Oscar De La Hoya.....Result: Hopkins wins by KO in the 9th.....If the vote in Louisiana Saturday is going to be invalidated by a court, and proponents there expect that to happen, just what was the point in having it?.....LSU was upset by Auburn Saturday.....Just coincidence, I'm sure.....The Southeastern Conference is the best league in all of colleg...

Hello Again, I was inspired by reaction to a recent blog of mine to share some history about "the biz". All info can be found in multiple sources, and none is gossip or heresy. You could win a bar bet with some of these facts: The only reason Paulette Goddard didn't play Scarlett O'Hara in Gone With The Wind was that she couldn't produce a certificate that stated that she was actually married to Charlie Chaplin. Society's morals were much different in 1939, and Producer David O. Selznik...

Hello Again, My latest list is of things that almost happened. If some of these had actually happened, we might be looking at some things very differently. The close calls: After the Spanish-American war ended in 1898, we almost made Cuba a state! Instead, President William McKinley lobbied for, and got independence for Cuba. A young actor signed to a contract at Columbia Pictures in the early 50s was meeting with studio chief Harry Cohn for the express purpose of finding a suitable ...

Hello Again, I did something unusual for me last night.....I actually slept most of the night.....I had to be in Pasadena at 8am.....About a 20-mile drive from here.....When you have to be in Pasadena for any reason, well.....I actually like Pasadena, it's just kind of different from the rest of the Metro area.....On the way, another driver was in an awful hurry.....I was in lane #2, next to the fast lane, and he zoomed past me in his red Mazda like I was standing still.....I had to be doi...

Hello Again, Once again the forecasted cool down didn't happen.....The weather nerds on LA TV have been telling us for 3 days to expect a cool down tomorrow.....And they're saying it again.....I'll believe it when I feel it.....It was sooo hot today that the only things I had on all day were the air conditioner, the TV and the computer.....That's it.....When you're single and living alone, you can do things like that.....Don't worry, the curtains were drawn.....Got a telephone invite for a...

Hello Again, When you argue with someone, and they don't counter on a point you made, but harp on something else out of the blue, that's their way of admitting that they've lost the argument, but are trying to save face.....Continuing from last blog's Beatle references: A Hard Day's Night and Yellow Submarine are both 4-star, gold-plated classic films.....Help! falls a little short of classic status, and Let It Be is just plain boring.....Nobody's fault except Paul McCartney's.....Al Broda...

Hello Again, To a certain JU blogger, you know who the Hell you are: those who take the highest road have the longest, hardest fall to take.....Drive, he said, but for God's sake, watch where you're going.....Didn't mean to get esoteric on anyone, but it had to be said.....I hope I'm wrong, but it looks like the 2004-05 NHL season is over before it gets a chance to start.....Dammit.....I still haven't caught a flying puck or a foul ball.....Buying one at the concession stand doesn't quite ...

Hello Again, Karl Rove is the Chuck Colson of the Bush Administration.....If those men on the boat with John Kerry dispute the legitimacy of his medals, why did they accept theirs?.....They were in the same battles.....I feel sorry for Rory Kennedy, daughter of the late Robert F. Hello Again, It's hot in LA this weekend.....I guess other parts of the country are worse off than just heat, so I shouldn't complain.....Nothing empties a night club here quicker than Andy Dick entering one.....Wherever he goes, trouble follows.....He's banned from several.....I've seen Monica Lewinsky around town several times.....All she needs is an apple in her mouth.....Otherwise, she goes around town pretty much unnoticed, much to her chagrin.....The show biz aspirations of Fawn Hall...
